Air Safety and Design Approved Organisation Scheme Guidance

DE&S ISR Air Lead

MoD assurance processes for air equipment can appear complex, with various approval schemes and legislation. Meeting the regulatory requirements for air equipment can also seem taxing, especially for smaller organisations.

In this session we will cover the basis regulations and schemes that are relevant for the types of 'carry on equipment' and 'role fit equipment' that SPISR procures. We will explain the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations, highlight which ones are most applicable as well as discuss aviation safety requirements and the Design Organisation Approval Scheme (DAOS).

Counter Drone Clinic - DICE (Session will be repeated at 1530)

The free to attend Counter Drone Clinic focuses on all aspects of detection and disruption with the aim of providing a holistic and vendor agnostic understanding of current capability to mitigate for criminal, nefarious and non-state actor use of drones.

The clinic will guide you through the law surrounding countermeasures and will advise what is currently commercially available and viable, illustrating how to integrate them into security plans.

Also visit DICE at Stand 26 and take part in their drone competition in the Drone/Demo Zone.

Bookable sessions at 1100 – 1130 and repeated at 1530 - 1600. Book via the registration portal.

Security Sector Surgery - Dr Hugo Rosemont & Dr Brian Hampson, ADS (session repeated at 1400)

A further new feature for 3CDSE 2019, join two senior members of the ADS Security and Resilience Team, Dr Hugo Rosemont and Dr Brian Hampson, for a unique, free-to-attend introductory ‘masterclass’ on understanding and accessing the security and resilience market.

Drawing on their collective experience of operating in Government, industry and academia over the past 25 years, the ADS team will deliver insights to participants on the security threat context and how it is seen by the UK Government; outline the structure and operation of the UK security sector, across public and private sectors; provide an overview of the security science and technology landscape; and deliver an overview of security exports and how companies can access support in international markets.

The masterclass will be open to attendees on a first-come-first-served basis; session repeated at 1400. Book via the registration portal.
